Dissapointing loss from Salavat Yulaev

The Leopards conceded two goals in the third period and cannot repeat the result of the previous matchup with Salavat Yulaev.

Team had enough to rest and prepare for another meeting with Salavat Yulaev this season. Earlier we defeated them on the road. German Rubtsov recovered from an injury and returned to the lineup. Joel Lassinantti, David Rundblad and Nikita Mikhailov returned to the ice as well.

In the first minute of the game Sochi had a power play opportunity that happened after too many men on the ice of the opposite team. At the end of the first teams started to play more energetic hockey and had only small chances to score.

Next frame started again with our powerplay. That time we had real chances after Daniil Miromanov’s shot. Lassinantti and Daniil Tarasov played quite solid games in the net. Third period started with our penalty. Salavat capitalized on it. Teemu Hartikainen buried the rebound after Marcus Granlund’s shot. The goal was a real boost for both teams and soon Salavat scored again.

The Leopards battled hard however they were unable to score even one goal. Sochi will move on the road where it will face Severstal on October, 21.
