Bitter loss in Minsk

The Leopards started the road trip in Minsk where they got only one point.

It was the second meeting between these two teams this year. Earlier we got a W in Minsk with a 2-1 score. Our team started well with Sergei Shmelyov’s breakaway goal in the first minutes of the play. Later Dinamo Minsk tied it up with a good shot from Alexei Protas.

In the second period and most half of the third the game was very accurate from both sides. With three minutes left to play Igor Rudenkov gave us a lead. He scored again in Minsk like a few weeks ago.

However, this time Dinamo has managed to tie the game. With 11 seconds left to play Shane Prince buried the rebound to turn the game into overtime.

In the beginning of the overtime we got a minor penalty for too many men on the ice. Dinamo used that chance and earned a win this night.

Sochi will continue a road trip on Saturday in Helsinki against Jokerit.
