The Leopards lost in the first road game of the 2021 year.

Both teams are battling for a playoffs spot, if Vityaz has a more perspective position, our team needed to start winning for a chance. Coaches didn’t make any significant changes hoping that the lines will start clicking.

The first period was quite even however Vityaz grabbed a 2-0 lead. At the start of the second period, Igor Rudenkov scored a goal to cut the lead of the home team.

In 20 seconds Svyatoslav Grebenshchikov restored the lead of Vityaz. And soon Mattias Tedenby made it 4-1 for the homeboys. After that, coaches changed the goalie and Ivan Kulbakov hit the ice.

After this change our team started to play more disciplined and aggressive. Unfortunately, it only helped Nikita Sedov to score his first KHL career goal. We even scored the third goal but the time is run out at that moment.

At the third, we had a couple of chances, however, the scoreboard remained the same. Sochi is moving to Cherepovets where our team will face Severstal on January 10.
