The win was so close

The Leopards lost to Kunlun Red Star in a very important home game.

Ivan Volodin and Vladislav Valentsov played their first game for our team. If Volodin played in the KHL earlier, Valentsov played his first ever KHL game at age of 24. And it started pretty well. Ivan Volodin opened the scoreboard on the 12^th minute of the play.

Later Vasily Glotov doubled our lead with a nice wrister. For both players these goals became first for Sochi. Team played very accurately and disciplined.

However the second period turned into a nightmare. Kunlun Red Star scored two goals in a 15-second span. Later Casey Wellman scored during the penalty of Nikita Feoktistov. And in the middle of the period Ivan Volodin got a major penalty. Team survived and tied the game with Daniil Miromanov’s solo move.

In the third period we allowed one goal from the breakaway that decided the game.

The series of important games will continue on Friday against Neftekhimik.
